AdventHealth volunteers will provide primary care outpatient services and health education to the people of Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos during five clinic days.
Clinica Adventista of Quito is an AdventHealth Mission Partner and has established a working partnership since 2020. Our mission work in the Galapagos will be in partnership with Clinica Adventista of Quito and the local Seventh-day Adventist church and school in Santa Cruz Island. Clinica Adventista of Quito is a hospital that serves their community with in-patient hospitalization, operating rooms, outpatient visits and medical care from physicians specializing in various areas of medicine, and a new imaging center.

Requirements
Prerequisites
- Passport expiration date at least 6 months after trip dates
Responsibilities
- Providers (Physicians and APP) - providing primary care consultations
- Nursing Volunteer - Triage and nursing care
- Clinical Volunteer (ex: Pharmacy, PT, OT, Imaging, Lab, etc.) - providing care in primary care setting
- Non-Clinical Volunteer - assisting in clinic operations
Preparation
- Read through trip packet
- Begin fundraising campaign, if needed
- Visit CDC travel website for vaccine requirements
- Learn about the culture of the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador
