Volunteer Code of Conduct
AdventHealth Global Missions promotes health, wellness, and education while improving access to medical services for underserved populations in our Mission Partner locations. To achieve this goal, AdventHealth Global Missions organizes short-term mission trips, deploying medical and non-medical volunteers to provide relief and services. Additionally, we build capacity within partner hospitals to ensure the long-term sustainability of healthcare initiatives.
Volunteer Code of Conduct Agreement:
I agree to abide by the following:
- Personal Responsibility: Complete required tasks and reflections
- Familiarize myself with the region
- Address ethical concerns appropriately
- Uphold professional standards and ethical conduct
- Review and sign surgical care guidelines (if applicable)
- Respect: Treat all individuals with dignity and respect
- Dress respectfully and avoid inappropriate language and behavior
- Maintain confidentiality
- Use social media responsibly, protecting patient privacy
- Safety: Act safely and responsibly, following trip leader instructions
- Exercise caution when traveling alone. Inform the trip leader of your plans.
PARTICIPANT AUTHORIZATION AND AGREEMENT
I hereby authorize AdventHealth Global Missions to purchase airline tickets on my behalf for my participation in the mission trip, unless I have stated otherwise in written form that I will be purchasing my own flight.
I agree to reimburse AdventHealth Global Missions for the cost of such tickets in a timely manner (no later than 25 days prior to departure).
Once AdventHealth Global Missions has purchased airline tickets on my behalf, I understand and acknowledge that I am responsible for the cost of such airline tickets and that this cost is nonrefundable. However, if AdventHealth Global Missions cancels the trip due to unforeseen circumstances, I understand they will do everything possible to reimburse my deposit and flight costs.
I agree to pay the trip amount at the deadline dates prior to departure of the trip.
